Over the past decade, interior design has been trending toward more causal living spaces. Given that our homes have become more comfortable and multi-functional, we are using more fabrics that are forgiving of children, pets, and entertaining.
Fortunately, solution-dyed acrylic fabrics have become readily available, and in a wide variety of colors, textures, and patterns. Solution-dyed acrylic fabrics are unique in that a liquid acrylic solution is mixed with dye, formed into a fiber, and then spun into yarn.* This process allows the fabric to be water-resistant, colorfast, and soft to the touch.
Caring for your solution-dyed acrylic fabrics is very simple:
Using a natural soap and warm water, sponge spots briskly.
Rinse with clean water.
Allow to air-dry.
If stronger products are needed, you may use an all-purpose cleaner – just make sure you don’t overspray the spot and you fully rinse the area with clean water.
Finally, our favorite solution-dyed acrylic manufacturer, Sunseashell Fabrics, offers video for care and cleaning of their products.
